Proud of this team

Well...the trip is pretty much over, except for some last minute shopping before heading to the airport tomorrow. It has been a fantastic trip. I am sooooo proud of this team. They have exhibited such selflessness and sacrifice. India is a tough place to spend a week when you are accustomed to American comforts. It is difficult to describe how radically different it is here. But their was not one complaint from the team...not one. This team has endured upset stomachs, nausea, head aches, jet lag, spicy food, dirty conditions, smog, crazy traffic, and noisy hotel rooms. They sat on the floor in a crowded room every day for several hours strait while the Word was taught. They ate food they had never even heard of before, and cleaned their plates. They spent a day visiting with and ministering alongside Indian believers in the worst slum imaginable and CRIED when they had to leave. I could go on and on. But, ask any of them if they are glad they came...ALL of them will say yes. They did all this, not for themselves, but for the sake of the Gospel. I am so proud to be their pastor and team leader!

Slummin' It

Today we did some ministry in the slums.  It was a very eye opening awesome experience.  We worshipped and praised with them, performed the Christmas Cantata, ate, taught a Bible Study, and prayed for them.

This is a closet with all of their worldly goods.  It makes me pause and think about complaining about the size of my closet.

You all from TBC would be proud seeing these Indians in the costumes for the Christmas Cantata.  They are proud too.  They have never had anything like it and the narrative that goes with it has been awesome.  You can tell it has caused the unbelievers to ask questions and possibly want to know about Jesus!

This is for Carol Walker

We met a lady today at the conference that was knitting a sweater.  We ended up through a translator learning that she is quite the seamstress.  She said she can make anything she sees, and we told her about a lady in our church... Carol Walker, that has that same skill.  So we met the Indian version of Carol today.  :)

Camel

Happy New Year!!

The teaching of the doctrines has been so well received.  Yesterday the pastors and teachers were so hungry and eager to listen and learn about the Word of God.  Today, The women will have a conference for the native ladies in the area we have been working in.  Please be in prayer for them today (tonight for you), that God would speak bodly and clearly through our ladies and that He would do a mighty work in them.

Nick

Great experiences!

God is moving in a mighty way while we are on mission in this city.  It is so encouraging to see men and women of God who have traveled as far away as 500 kilometers to hear teachings about the the doctrines that define us as Baptists.  I look forward to what God has is store for us for the remaining time we have here.  Please continue to be in prayer for our ministry to the believers and non-believers alike.  We know that your continued prayers for us and them alike make it possible for us to do God's work here!

Happy New Year!

For New Year's Eve, Shelby and I rode on an elephant and a camel! We had so much fun. The camel was a little more difficult. We thank God for all the fun and encouragement that he is providing.

With love to all,
Nancy and Shelby

Namaste and Happy New Year!

This morning the guys will be taking it easy as the ladies teach a ladies conference at the training center. I guess we will hang out, shop, and drink chai. Looking forward to a "down day" after three long days of teaching and ministry.

Pastor Scott

Happy New Year! We're doing fine.  Ministry work going well. Having a good time.  Very life changing event for me.  Got you (Teresa) a surprise.

Love Dan

I thought you banners ladies would think it is pretty special that Shelby is going to talk to the ladies today about using their sewing skills to glorify Jesus through banners.  :)  Love and miss you all at TBC and our my awesome family.  I am still floating from the news of our grant!
